A diverse and anti-discriminatory environment cannot be created through policies and guidelines alone – it is important that we all become part of this change process. This is where Allyship comes in.
As part of this workshop, we will look at privileges and discrimination and develop possible courses of action that we can use as allies in everyday life or in a work context to act in solidarity with people who experience disadvantages in our society due to discrimination.
A Brave Space – an open and discrimination-critical dialogue space – is created in which uncertainties can be reflected upon. The joint work takes place interactively in individual work, small groups and in plenary sessions.
The workshop will be led by Michelle Bray, a consultant who supports companies in developing and implementing strategies in the areas of awareness, diversity, and empowerment.
Born and raised in a small town in the Palatinate region as one of the few BIPoC (Black, Indigenous & People of Color) in a predominantly white environment, she is very familiar with the feeling of being perceived as “different” or “foreign.” These experiences taught her early on how valuable it can be to create and make use of spaces that foster diversity and inclusion.
