The Future Conference on Culture laid the foundation for the future direction of cultural life in Detmold in August 2023. Over the course of two days, representatives from Detmold’s cultural scene, politics, and administration worked together to develop five key topics, take stock of the current situation, and establish goals for the cultural future of Detmold based on various assessments, wishes, and suggestions.

For the first Future Table on Culture, the city of Detmold invited participants to network and continue the exchange at Hangar 21. The aim was to present the developed topics once again and to discuss specific actions in smaller impulse groups to further advance their implementation. Around 40 cultural practitioners from Detmold attended the event. In five working groups, participants focused on areas such as “Support for Culture,” “Diversity, Openness and Participation,” “Places for Cultural Experience”, as well as “Cultural Education,” and developed ideas on how to invest in improving the networking among cultural practitioners.
