The city of Detmold continued its cultural development planning with the 4th “Future Roundtable on Culture” and warmly invited all interested parties to take part. After the 3rd Future Roundtable at the beginning of 2025 focused on cultural education, the next step was now taken: a concrete review and further development of cultural education offerings in Detmold.
The aim of the event was to take a closer look at the cultural education landscape in Detmold, to make existing offerings visible, and to explore perspectives for future development. Among other things, this involved questions such as: Who offers which programmes? Which target groups are already being reached? And where are there still gaps in the current provision?
The Future Roundtable is intended to create a shared basis on which cross-generational cultural education in Detmold can be further developed in a strategic way. The focus was on recording and networking existing activities as well as analysing needs and potential.
To illustrate the results more clearly, they were documented live in a graphic recording and finally presented in a single overall image, providing a concise overview of the current landscape of cultural education in Detmold.

Various institutions and cultural stakeholders were involved in the idea generation process: independant artists, the Detmold city administration, the Kreativ Campus Detmold e.V., the Detmold-Lemgo Adult Education Centre, the Literaturbüro OWL, the Lippische Landesbibliothek, the Hochschule für Musik, the Ausschuss für Chancengleichheit und Integration, the Johannes-Brahms-Musikschule, Kunstpunkt e.V., the Grabbe-Gymnasium Zukunft Gemeinsam Gestalten e.V., the Landestheater Detmold, the Alte Pauline, as well as representatives from the world of politics.
